Heyo' guys
Dusty Here!

No! The site has not been abandoned. We've just been focussing on getting our name out there, and what better way to do that than by seeing just how many add requests we can get on our Myspace page. And so far we have a wopping 210 and the number is growing as I type this, so if you've got Myspace page slip on over and add us!

As for me, I'll be stopping in much more often to keep you guys updated, so don't give up on the website. Chris is working on getting the domain name bought so this website will be ours no strings attached.

Love and Peace
~ Dusty ~

The Real Challenge Begins!

Dusty here

In the last blog, Chris talked about Cody Jenkins officially joining Sultan and Chance purchasing a bass. The dreams have become realities as this weekend Cody came to take part in our first practice session as a full band and I must say things couldn't be moving along any better at this point in time.

We'd like to get around to writing some of our music very soon, but for right now Cody and myself are playing around with cover songs just so we can all be in sink together. It's been a very progressive and interesting weekend for everyone in the band and we can only hope it gets much better from here. I only hope that we have made Cody feel welcome enough. He is now part of our twisted little family.

Love and Peace
~ Dusty ~

Chris here,

We got part of our wish today as we got a rhythm guitarist, Cody Jenkins, and I myself will be getting more equipment for myself very soon. I am working on designing a custom PA system for our shows and Dustin is working on procuring a better drum set. Chance will be the proud owner of a very nice bass guitar soon, and that will hopefully bring us up to fighting strength. We hope you will continue to support us and hope you will tell everyone you know about us!

Full Speed Ahead!

Ahoi Kiddies! This is Dusty

First order of business, I need to say that the site has NOT been abandoned. There just hasn't been anything going on worth talking about. But after months of contemplation, planning, thinking, and struggling. a band is starting to surface.

In case you haven't noticed yet, we did change our name. Mäus was really just a name drawn from the hat (not literally of course) while we were in highschool together. Naturally, we feel we have evolved from that stage, and alot of people who were with us in that stage are now completely out of the picture. So our name has been changed to Sultan!

Now on to more good news. We had our first real sample jam session (Chris and Myself basically) this last weekend, and I think we were both pretty satisfied with the way everything went. We set new goals to reach, and laid down some tracks to follow back. We have our bassist (Chance) on the map, so now we've moved out focus in search of a Lead Vocalist and Rythm Guitar player so Sultan can be complete.

Somebody will keep you updated as we progress. Just check back.

Requiem for talent.

Chris here,

Well I'm a bit more skeptical about the band than I'd like to be, but oh well. We currently only have myself and Dustin, as to my knowledge due to geographical and musical difficulties. Chance has long dropped off the map - he no longer desires to develop any musical ability, and didn't have much to begin with, as I rehearsed with him a few times on some songs I was working on and hedidn't even score an "iffy" on the talent board. Travis has dropped off my radar for quite some time and he is about an hour away from Dustin and myself, and Travis doesn't seem to wish to truly pursue music. I am looking at a few candidates for another guitar position and we still have alot of work to even get on our feet, but we're coming together. As of the moment I'm looking for a bassist and have excluded the idea of a keyboardist in my mind because I just can't see it anymore. We might undergo a name and logo change so be prepared for that possibility as well.

C

First Blog!

Hey guys, Dusty here. I know some of you (I Hope) have been monitoring our progress for a while, and we're no stranger for dissapointment when it comes to making our music. We've had various problems in our prestages, for instance me having NO drums, no amplifiers, shitty guitars. Yeah, it was real hectic. But if you've got the heart and soul to push for something, you'll get it.

The band is going stronger than ever, and we're all really happy about the way things are going right now. I hope the rest of the guys get time to post their thoughts and feelings up here as well. I know Travis and Chris have some damn good stories to tell. As of right now I'm recording a few rough draft drum tracks that I hope we can lay down on a new album soon.

I've got several songs Chris wrote when we were in highschool, and I'm really pleased with some of the tunes I've put with them. I just hope the rest of the guys feel as creative. I'll try to keep this page updated even when the others guys can't, because not all of us have easy internet access.
